The Park San Jose is a two field entrepreneur/soccer club hybrid setup offering leagues team training space, drop-in play, skills clinics, camps, and parties. The client worked with the developer who owns the block to creatively convert the parking lot of a previous Chinese Restaurant into playing space. They also converted the inside of the restaurant into a clubhouse to be used for viewing parties, birthday parties, food and beverage, team meetings, and alternative programming.
Location: San Jose, California
The Owner and Developer Had 3 Goals in Mind When Working with Urban Soccer Park:
- Create a community around an alternative five-a-side soccer experience for people who want to connect, improve, and compete locally and globally.
- Create field space in an area that sorely lacked accessible soccer space
- Niche: Offering inclusive 5v5 play for the community
Given the unique space, we customized these fields to nestle perfectly around the existing building. We also moved components around such as doors, trash cans, and storage bins to work around curbs and walkways, allowing us to maximize and utilize the space as best as possible for the client.
