Former Restaurant Becomes a 5v5 Soccer & Community Hub in San Jose
A creative conversion turns a Chinese restaurant property into two modular fields and a clubhouse for play, food, and connection.
THE CHALLENGE
Lack of Urban Soccer Access
San Jose lacked accessible soccer fields, especially for small-sided formats.
Jodi, the property owner, identified an underused Chinese restaurant and parking lot, and envisioned a space that could bring sport, community, and social connection together.
THE SOLUTION
A Restaurant Reimagined
Between January–March 2021, Urban Soccer Park transformed the property into a dual-purpose facility: two 5v5 fields and a community clubhouse.
